About Lisa

Lisa Kuta is a Speech-Language Pathologist and the owner of Kuta Speech and Language Services. She is licensed in the state of Maryland and maintains certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-LanguageHearing Association (ASHA). She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Towson University in 1998 and her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Towson University in 2000.

Lisa began working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the public school system with pre-schoolers and elementary age students. During this time she also provided private speech services to children after school. When she had children of her own, she made the decision to focus mainly on her private practice. This way she could spend more time with her family and also continue her passion for helping others be successful communicators.

Lisa specializes in treating speech sound disorders (like those tricky R's, lisps, and other substitutions and distortions), as well as helping children who stutter speak with greater ease and build positive attitudes about talking. She believes in working closely with parents and caregivers so that progress is seen not only in the clinical setting, but also at home and in school.
